Printer Installation
Printer Install and Upgrade
If it's time to install a printer or get a new one, here's what to do:
WINDOWS
If you are getting a new printer, make sure you uninstall any software from the manufacturer.
Plug in printer using USB or Parallel. Alternatively, you can also use Wifi or Bluetooth.
Wait for Windows to detect your printer. It will tell you when it's ready. If it's not able to do it alone, you'll need drivers from the manufacturer. Check their website.
Print a test page.
LINUX
Note: Almost all HP printers work on Linux, most Epson's work and some Brother printers work too. Very few Canon printers are compatible with Linux.
Plug printer into USB or parallel. You can also use Wifi or Bluetooth.
Print a test page.
