Email. The way of the future?

In a tech driven world, will email ever replace traditional snail mail? I think so and here is why.

SNAIL MAIL HAS SECURITY ISSUES

Snail Mail is very vulnerable to attack. It can be opened and read by anyone. I never send anything through the post office that I don't have to. Snail Mail also has the common problem of getting lost. You can't loose an email.

SNAIL MAIL CAN BE STOLEN

Another reason to avoid traditional mail is the fact that email can never be stolen. Your email address can be stolen and used to send viruses to people but email themselves, cannot. Truth be told, more security was put into email than any other service with the exception of antivirus software.

SNAIL MAIL CAN BE USED TO HARASS

So yes, cyberbullying is a probelm. But what did people do before the internet? Write harassing letters to people using the post office. And, without a return address, you'll never know who it came from. With email, you can do an IP trace and find out where it came from, the name of the person who owns the account and can get justice. But if you get harassing letters through the post office, there is very little the police can do to stop it.

IN CONCLUSION

While Snail Mail served a purpose once, it's time has come and gone. It's time to move on and go forward. I believe the Post Office will give everyone an email address and stop delivering mail in the next 10-15 years. They should redistribute the money saved into paying employees more and it's package delivery service.
